Job Description
Greenfield Supply Center is looking for a personable, reliable, and hardworking member to join our service team, focused on small engines and compact equipment. Under general supervision, inspects, repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, assembles, maintains, and/or installs one or several related types of mechanical assemblies while also performing routine task in maintenance, repair, or installation of equipment, and machinery and/or operates mechanical equipment. As a small engine and compact equipment service technician, your job duties would include but are not limited to:
Identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems and make necessary repairs.
Perform all machine and/or engine repairs and adjustments.
Test and verify correct operations of all repairs.
Communicate effectively and professionally with customers.
Set up new equipment to prepare it for sale.
General and preventative maintenance.
Assist with plow and spreader installations.
Performs emergency repairs as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3 years of experience as a service mechanic.
Must have your own tools.
Experience with 2 and 4 cycle motors.
Ability to read English sufficiently to be able to read information contained in manuals, regulations, and reports, including safety issues and related matters.
Ability to speak English and communicate with others.
Basic English language skills for completion of various paperwork.
Ability to speak Spanish would be helpful, but not required.
Use basic mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurements.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
May be required to work overtime and/or different shifts when circumstances warrant as determined by the supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to safely operate equipment, mount and dismount equipment, safely hook-up, secure and transport equipment. Periods of extensive sitting, standing and squatting are routinely required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
