Position Overview
Are you a gearhead who loves turning wrenches? Do you enjoy working on engines—whether it’s race cars, mowers, or anything in between? We’re looking for a reliable and skilled Small Engine mechanic to join our team.
In this role, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE), including lawn mowers, zero-turns, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, generators, and more. The ideal candidate is mechanically minded, detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair small engines (2-stroke & 4-stroke), electrical systems, hydraulics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, blade sharpening, belt replacements, filter changes, and tune-ups.
Troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and accurately.
Complete work orders with notes, parts used, labor hours, and repair recommendations.
Communicate repair needs, estimates, and timelines with service advisors or customers.
Test equipment to ensure all repairs meet quality and performance standards.
Qualifications
2+ years of small engine repair experience preferred (but we’re willing to train the right candidate).
Knowledge of outdoor power equipment, 2-cycle & 4-cycle engines, and basic electrical systems.
Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical job duties.
Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug test.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Experience with Hustler, Exmark, Scag, Grasshopper, STIHL, Echo, Kawasaki, Kohler, Briggs, etc.
Welding or light fabrication skills.
Hydraulic system knowledge.
Previous dealership or shop experience.
Schedule & Pay
Full-time position
Pay based on experience (hourly + commission)
Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays during peak season
