Small Engine Mechanic

The Small Engine Mechanic will support our equipment division to ensure optimal performance of our tools and small equipment. This role involves diagnosing, performing routine maintenance and ensuring our equipment meets and exceeds safety and operational standards. 

Your day-to-day will look like:

Must be able to lift up to 50 ibs.

Diagnose and repair small engines (chainsaws, brush cutters, pumps, generators.)

Service and repair diesel-powered plate packers and other light construction equipment

Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, filter and spark plug replacements, belt adjustments, etc.

Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, and hydraulic issues

Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance through computer system

Keep a clean, safe, and organized work area

Communicate clearly with team members

Follow all safety procedures and company standards

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience with small engine repair

Hands-on experience with diesel engines, especially plate compactors/packers

Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills

Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics

Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team

Basic computer skills for service logging

Valid driver’s license preferred

Considered an Asset:

Certification in Small Engine or Diesel Mechanics

Experience with hydraulic systems

Familiarity with brands such as Wacker Neuson, Multiquip, Honda, Toro, Dyna Pac
