Ulbrich of California is currently seeking a Slitter Operator for their West Coast Service Center located in Pico Rivera, CA.

Slitter Operator Responsibilities Include: 

• Set up, operate, and adjust slitting machines according to work orders and specifications
• Read and interpret production orders, coil specs, and tolerances
• Inspect material before, during and after processing to ensure quality standards are met
• Measure slit widths and edge quality to verify accuracy
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures at all times
•  Loading and unloading steel coils onto a slitting machine
• Cutting cores for metal to be wound onto from a slitting machine
• Driving a sit-down forklift to retrieve steel coils from inventory racks
• Weighing steel coils and handling scrap metal
• Banding skids and packaging steel coils
• Lifting coils and packages that weigh a maximum of 50 lbs. 
• Creating and printing ID tags for coils
• Entering production data and measurements into a computer system
• Making calculations using mathematical formulas
• Other duties as assigned

Qualified candidates will have:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of previous related experience operating process machinery along with forklift driving.
• Ability to read, write and interpret written documents, problem solve and perform basic math calculations to a level generally equivalent to that attained at a high school level, including the use and calculation of decimals, fractions.
• Ability to use micrometer, caliper, scale and fixed gauges and other simple measuring equipment.
• Ability to make operating adjustments to maintain quality.
• Ability to work from job orders, customer specifications and operational procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to use reason and judgment in the planning and performance of duties.

Pay Range:

$27.77 - $31.96 an hour
