The role will be responsible for:
*Receiving & Storage
*Picking & Packing
*Stock Issuing & Stock Movement
*Stock Returns
*Participating in Stock Tales & Cycle Counting
*Continuous Improvement
The role requires hands on approach with minimum resources – someone who wants the challenge to roll up
their sleeves and get the job done with a mindset of continuously improving on the way we perform our activities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Receiving
*Unload and receive all raw materials and packaging and check against delivery notes.
*Confirming correct quantities received
*Inspecting for damage
*Ensure all packaging received is correctly labelled.
*Maintaining accurate records of all products received by suppliers.
*Ensure products are handled in accordance with safe work procedures.
*Stocking shelves
*Follow receiving stock on our ERP/MRP system.
Storage and Replenishment
*Booking materials into stock
*Ensure that the warehouse is maintained in a fit and proper way, always conforming to GMP.
*Store items according to their stock keeping requirements and frequency of use.
*Ensure storage requirements for HCS are adhered to in accordance with legislation and storage
procedures.
*Ensure that all areas are replenished according to prescribed stock levels.
*Maintain a FIFO system in fine picking to prevent expiration of stock.
Stock Issuing & Stock Movement
*Ensure that labels are printed for products to be dispatched and ensure containers are labelled.
*Ensure that all packaging and componentry remains well labelled and issued in accurate quantities to
production according to order requirements.
*Manage the movement of goods between Stores, Production, and the Warehouse, always ensuring
stock availability at point of use.
*Ensure that all stock moves with the warehouse strictly according to documented processes.
Stock Returns
*Receive packaging and componentry returns and check against return notes.
*Confirm correct quantities received.
*Inspecting for damage and book back into stock
Participating in Stock Tales & Cycle Counting
*Perform cycle counts according to the cycle counting schedule.
*Generate variance reports and submit for stock level adjustments.
*Participate in stock count planning and execution as required.
Continuous Improvement
*Ensure that Company SOP’s are strictly adhered to and communicate with management where SOP’s
could be improved/advanced and or require updating.
*Consider processes in terms of added value and continually improve processes based on objective
measurements per department
*Make use of rigorous problem-solving techniques including DMAIC, RCA, 5WHY etc
*Identify gaps between current and required practice, recommend and drive improvement activities to
address the gaps
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
*Matric - Stores & Warehousing NQF3 will be an advantage.
*Minimum 1 years’ experience as a storeman, preferably in the cosmetics/pharmaceutical -and/or FMCG
manufacturing industry.
*Computer literacy
*The ability to communicate effectively in English. (Written and spoken word)
*Impeccable time management and the proven ability to plan and organize effectively.
*Honesty beyond reproach
