Reporting to the Regional Director, the Site Manager is responsible for coordinating site activities, managing teams, and ensuring the smooth execution of operations related to the purchasing, transportation, and processing of materials. He or she contributes to achieving performance objectives while maintaining a safe work environment and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be actively present on the shop floor with employees.
• Supervise, coach, and motivate the team; conduct performance evaluations and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Monitor staff performance, prepare analytical reports, and provide appropriate support and coaching.
• Organize the efficient allocation of trucks and coordinate transportation schedules.
• Manage the supply of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Plan, lead, and oversee daily operations with sector supervisors.
• Set priorities, identify performance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Actively contribute to achieving financial results and controlling operating costs.
• Prepare reports for management and participate in strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain a strong customer service culture by building a team focused on meeting local customer needs.
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve processes and optimize work methods.
• Carry out local marketing initiatives to increase site visibility and respond to specific customer needs.
• Define, document, and update operational policies, procedures, and processes.
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards and take all necessary measures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform any other related duties as required by operational needs.
• A minimum of 5–10 years of experience in operational management, including at least 2 years in the metallurgical industry or a related sector (an asset).
• Proven experience managing teams of 5+ employees, with measurable results.
• Bilingualism: French and English (spoken and written) at a professional level.
• Ability to develop and execute operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Expertise in leading organizational transformation projects.
• Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and project management tools.
• Preferred certifications: Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), or an equivalent certification.
