Job Description
Precision Control Systems (“Precision”), a Hill Group (“Hill”) member company, is looking for an site superintendent to assist in managing complex construction projects, primarily for public entities in Illinois. The site superintendent would assist in management and oversight of up to $10M in design-build renovation projects. Within Pre-K-12 schools, Precision has successfully completed over 40 design-build, school renovation projects via performance contracts and co-operative purchasing arrangements, totaling $130 million over the past 20 years. These projects typically included upgrades to and/or new installations of: HVAC systems, building automation systems, lighting systems, renewable energy systems, and building envelope systems such as roofing, windows and doors. The site superintendent is responsible for assisting the construction team in all aspects of the construction of a project, contributing to a safe and on-time completion that is within budget.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Regarding Construction, Engineering and Project Management the site superintendent is responsible to:
Act on behalf of Precision/Hill to independently managing all field operations on up to 5 active construction projects
Comprehend construction design drawings and specifications
Understand divisions of construction to manage scopes of work for subcontractors
Be the primary contact for all subcontractors, vendors, and partners during construction
Hold weekly coordination meetings and pre-task planning meetings on-site
Develop and execute a plan to ensure the project team meets the schedule
Collaborate in creation of the project schedule as deliverable to customer and update via weekly meetings
Lead weekly owner update meetings with the PM. Maintain thorough digital notes
Set-up onsite facilities and communications; directly manage various consultants and subcontractors
Record daily log of site activities and work progress, organized into a cohesive digital format including pictures
Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment compliant with OSHA regulations
Close out projects by completing Punchlists, Approve “As-Built” Drawings, preparing Operating and Maintenance Manuals inclusive of any additional parts required, training Operating Engineers, providing Client with appropriate training and Letter of Warranty, and confirming final payment
Responsible for final resolution of conflicts
Perform all other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
Work experience operating within mechanical, electrical or general contractor preferred
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
Experience in Procore, Bluebeam, and COINS is a plus
