In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Site Services Planner
The Site service planner is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance tasks and optimizing the maintenance cost for Site Service, contributing to Oko West operations management, safety and environmental initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Be able to identify and describe the roles of relevant service departments within the organization.
Be able to communicate effectively with each relevant service department.
Be able to create PR’s and order tracking, KPI recording and tracking, General Administration duties
To build, maintain, and improve effective communication and strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality service, and cost efficiency.
Plan, estimate and prepare warehouse materials and major tools. Plan, estimate and obtain procured materials and contracted services. Facilitate monitoring and review approvals for payment of suppliers.
Creating or approve Service Entry Sheet (SES) for invoices. Review and adjust stock quantity, description of warehouse materials.
Prepare and issue weekly and daily work schedule. Plan capacity for support equipment, logistics, and manpower. Filter, prioritize, and arrange for the approval of work requests from all sources. Communicate with 'owners' for approval of work requests. Organize staging of materials and tooling in line with the weekly plan.
Act as critical contact for operations, materials, manpower, vendors, etc., relating to maintenance and projects. Capture all requests for work (verbal, written, phone, etc.). Identify and prepare with field supervisors job procedures, permits, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and special work needs for tradesmen; electricians, plumbers, AC technicians, lifting crews, carpenters, welders.
Maintain a full and complete part register for work maintenance and projects. Ensure accurate register and tracking of consumables and components. Prepare and issue Stock Material Request for Spares in the warehouse. Keep record of small spare parts of the containers.
Issue and follow up on preventative maintenance inspections and procedures. Maintain integrity of preventative maintenance triggers and job creation. Prepare and issue Preventive maintenance checklist for all maintainable assets according to Oko West IMS standard form.
Prepare long, short- and medium-term maintenance plans, reducing downtime and maintenance costs of the Kitchen equipment’s, water treatment equipment’s, sewage treatment plants, Air condition units and walk-in freezers, seepage collection lines and pumps, water well pumps. Coordinate these plans with the Site service General Foreman and Supervisors
Ensure that work history and completion information is captured electronically.
Monitor CAPEX expenses and OPEX expenses. Ensure the monthly OPEX expenses are within budget.
Assist the field supervisors and GF in the day-to-day operations of the maintenance teams and various tasks onsite.
Maintain and issue maintenance plan for CAMPS facilities (Main Camp, Construction Camp including exploration Camp or other camps)
Communicate with field supervisors to plan, estimate, and identify the proper labor, services and skills. Plan and coordinate use of resources (parts, equipment, tools, and staff) for execution of maintenance and projects plans.
Prepare and communicate monthly work order performance. Facilitate weekly maintenance scheduling meeting. Support and contribute to key initiatives and continue improvement.
Maintaining department databases, registering training, corrective measures, planning and requesting required training for skilled workers, and updating the training matrix.
Prepare monthly performance – and environmental reports
Coordinate Travel for vendors, visitors and employees
Prepare vacation leave request for hourly, update vacation leave record and confidential files
Assist with all clerical activities as printout and copies etc.
Lead by example in all aspects of Oko West visions, values, and social responsibility. Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations, company policies and procedures and the company's environmental compliance policy
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
Degree and minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or 8 years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with manual and computerized maintenance planning systems is an asset.
PC skills using office software such as, Excel, Word and Power Point are essential.
Interpersonal relationship skills and problem solving skills are required.
Working Conditions
Position based at the OKO Project site.
Work Schedule – 14 days on/7days Off
