About the Site Safety Manager Role
We are seeking a dedicated, proactive Site Safety Manager to join our project team. This on-site, full-time role is integral to our mission of building a World Class Safety Culture in construction. As a Site Safety Manager, you will be a key safety advocate, collaborating with field teams, General Contractors, and Owners to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment for all. Your expertise and leadership will help foster a culture where safety is a shared commitment among all stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures
Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards
Provide safety training on essential topics: fall protection, equipment operation, hazard recognition, and emergency protocols
Lead regular safety toolbox talks and meetings to reinforce safe practices
Conduct frequent site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards and risks
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings, root causes, and corrective actions
Foster open communication on safety concerns among workers, supervisors, and contractors
Stay up-to-date with safety regulations to ensure site compliance
Obtain permits and licenses for safety-related activities as needed
Maintain thorough records of safety inspections, training sessions, and corrective actions
Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, owners, and regulatory agencies to address safety concerns and resolve any issues
Continuously seek opportunities to improve safety processes through data analysis and industry best practices
What You Bring:
Experience: 3 years in construction safety
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent relevant experience
Certifications: CSHO and CHST certifications preferred; MEWPs instructor qualification desired
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam/Adobe, and adept with various operating systems and applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to quickly establish credibility and build rapport with team members
Willingness to give and receive feedback in a constructive manner
Technical aptitude and strong attention to detail
Effective presentation and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Solid understanding of OSHA 1926 standards and construction compliance requirements
The Site Safety Manager role involves active engagement on construction sites, which requires:
Ability to navigate the construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, and working on uneven terrain in various weather conditions
Capacity to stand, walk, and observe on-site activities for extended periods throughout the workday
Occasionally lifting and carrying materials, tools, or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
Strong vision and hearing abilities (with or without corrective aids) to identify potential hazards and monitor safety conditions
Proficiency in operating safety equipment, tools, and electronic devices such as laptops or tablets for documentation
Comfort with working outdoors in changing weather conditions and in proximity to heavy equipment and construction noise
