Required Skills
Job Description
We are hiring exceptional software engineers to develop our simulation environment. Simulation is the life-blood of robotics. You will help build the simulator to smoke test the end to end system, eval complex scenarios that are unsafe or impractical to test IRL, and scale up testing to massive numbers of runs. Our core systems are based on machine learning, and so bridging the sim-to-real gap is a key focus. The core of the simulator must represent the physics of the real world, including deforming the terrain to enable digging. To reach scale, these simulations must be computationally efficient, and realistic enough to give strong evidence of performance. Good simulation dramatically increases robotics development speed, so your software will be core to our success!
Simulation requires a broad set of skills, and we are building a team. We are looking for people who have a passion for building high scale, highly realistic simulation environments. We don’t expect any one person to cover everything, but knowledge of system evaluation, strong geometric understanding, and an eye for closing gaps in simulation that make the autonomy stack run more realistically, are key skills.
We are looking for a range of seniority levels from a visionary lead to passionate builders. Regardless of level, to be successful in this role you will need to be hands-on writing code and building worlds. You will build the core content and algorithms of simulation, perfecting the operation of construction machines in a virtual sandbox. Join us!
