Job Description
About Us:
STARK is a new kind of defence technology company revolutionising the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost effective. This provides our operators with a decisive edge in highly contested environments.
We’re focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems—not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe—today.
Your mission:
As Product Owner for our simulator product, you will translate complex stakeholder needs into clear product requirements and agile execution, helping deliver a simulation platform that supports validation, testing, training, and mission readiness for embedded, robotics, and unmanned systems. The work is challenging, mission-driven, and grounded in real operational needs.
Responsibilities:
• Support and drive the product roadmap for the simulator product and related software-driven systems
• Contribute to requirement engineering activities across product, engineering, and stakeholder interfaces
• Capture, structure, prioritize, and maintain product and system requirements throughout the development lifecycle
• Translate customer, user, and operational needs into actionable product specifications and development goals
• Work closely with simulation, software, embedded, robotics, test, and hardware teams to ensure requirements are feasible, clear, and traceable
• Support agile software development processes across cross-functional engineering teams
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with company objectives and technical constraints
• Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and release priorities with clear technical relevance
• Coordinate sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospective activities with engineering teams
• Facilitate agile ceremonies and help maintain an effective Scrum-based development rhythm
• Support the team in removing blockers, improving collaboration, and maintaining delivery focus
• Promote transparency, ownership, and continuous improvement across the development process
• Support validation, verification, and product acceptance by ensuring requirements are testable and measurable
• Help align internal stakeholders across engineering, business, operations, and leadership
• Monitor product progress, delivery risks, and dependencies, and support mitigation activities
• Support field feedback loops and convert operational learnings into product improvements
• Produce structured documentation for product requirements, priorities, decisions, and release planning
• Work with engineering teams developing simulation environments for software validation, test, and mission preparation
• Support requirement definition for simulation use cases such as SIL, HIL, and system validation workflows
Qualifications:
• A university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Experience as a Product Owner, Junior Product Owner, Project Engineer, Systems Engineer, Scrum Master, or similar role in a technical environment
• Experience with simulator development, simulation products, or physics-based engineering tools.
• Experience in requirement engineering and agile software development
• Good understanding of Scrum processes and agile team facilitation
• Good technical understanding of software products and engineering development workflows
• Experience working with cross-functional teams involving software, simulation, embedded, or systems engineering
• Ability to translate operational and technical needs into structured requirements and product decisions
• Understanding of backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria definition, and sprint planning
• Ability to facilitate agile ceremonies, track progress, and support delivery execution
• Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
• Structured analytical thinking and practical problem-solving ability
• Ability to balance product priorities with technical constraints and delivery realities
Nice to Have
• Good understanding of simulation-driven development in robotics, unmanned systems, embedded systems, or automotive domains
• Understanding of SIL, HIL, testing, and validation workflows
• Experience in robotics, unmanned systems, automotive, aerospace, or similar engineering domains
• Familiarity with requirement traceability, change management, and verification workflows
• Experience with embedded systems or software-driven technical products
• Experience acting in a hybrid Product Owner and Scrum Master role
• Knowledge of Scrum metrics, agile delivery tracking, and team process improvement
• Knowledge of ROS2, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo, AirSim, PX4 SITL, ArduPilot SITL, or similar tools is a plus
• Understanding of physics engines, sensor simulation, or system-level validation is an advantage
• Experience in regulated, safety-critical, or mission-critical engineering environments is a plus
