Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Simulation Engineer (all genders) with focus on AC-Modeling who models, analyzes, and advances hydrogen‑electric propulsion and aircraft concepts at system and aircraft level, while expanding our Python‑based conceptual design framework in close collaboration with internal and external partners. Your responsibilities include:• You model hydrogen-electric aircraft propulsion systems on the system- and aircraft-level.
• You analyze and optimize propulsion systems for specific aircraft and mission requirements.
• You enhance the capabilities of our conceptual design framework.
• You collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Joby aviation and third-party airframers.
• You contribute to our modular conceptual design modeling Python codebase.
Requirements:
• M.Sc./PhD in Aerospace Engineering with excellent academic performance
• Proven hands-on experience in conceptual aircraft / aircraft propulsion design
• Strong communication skills with technical leads and external partners
• Proficient Python programming skills
• Experience in modeling hydrogen-electric propulsion systems
• Practical aircraft experience (e.g., gliding, RC aircraft)
• Fluent English Skills (spoken and written)
• Professional communication skills and confidence in international collaboration
• Analytical, curious, and solution-oriented mindset
• Comfortable working with assertive U.S. stakeholders
