Sierra West Airlines is a family-owned aviation company supporting both cargo and passenger operations. We are seeking an A&P Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Toledo, Ohio. This role provides hands-on aircraft maintenance experience in an active operational environment, supporting day-to-day flight operations across affiliated companies.
Position Scope
This position supports maintenance operations for affiliated Part 135 and Part 125 operators, with work performed primarily under the Company’s FAA Part 145 Repair Station. As business needs evolve, this role may also support future customers operating under FAR Part 121, etc.
Job Duties
Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform aircraft maintenance and repairs on B737, Lear 60, and SA227 aircraft in accordance with approved data
Read, analyze, and interpret maintenance manuals, technical procedures, electrical schematics, company policies, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
Perform routine and non-routine maintenance tasks
Perform maintenance on ground support equipment as needed
Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required
Support aircraft recovery efforts and maintenance needs across operating locations
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
Open to mechanics with limited experience who are eager to gain hands-on exposure in cargo and passenger operations
Passport or ability to obtain a passport within 60 days of hire
Must be at least 18 years of age
Eligibility to work in the United States
Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver around aircraft
Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug screening and required background checks
Ability to obtain and maintain an airport SIDA badge
Willingness and ability to travel for aircraft recovery, support other bases, or meet operational needs
Ability to work various shifts, overtime, and occasional after-hours callouts as required
