Transport residents in company vehicles to and from predetermined and scheduled destinations in a safe and courteous manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Drive safely at all times—no eating, drinking, texting, or talking on the telephone is permitted while the vehicle is in motion
• Know and follow all traffic laws
• Operate vehicle in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, laws, and ordinances
• Use knowledge and skill in driving to avoid sudden motions that could cause detrimental conditions to residents
• Maintain the vehicle’s appearance and notify the manager if the vehicle requires servicing
• Require that all residents wear their seat belts (where available and required), and that residents remain seated while vehicle is in motion
• Notify the Property Manager immediately if there is any type of accident
• Notify the Property Manager immediately of any traffic violation convictions
Education/Experience and Technical Requirements:
• Must have a current, valid state driver’s license with a minimum of three years driving experience. Loss of license must be immediately reported to the Property Manager.
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school degree or equivalent
• Must have a current CDL
• Must have a current DOT medical examiner’s certificate (also known as “DOT card” or “DOT certificate”)
• One year of work experience, including at least six months of operating vehicles to transport passengers or materials is preferred
• Be able to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Must be familiar with methods to secure information, directions, etc.
Motor Vehicle Report Criteria:
• No serious moving violations, accidents or license suspensions/revocations during the past three years
• No more than 2 moving violations during the past two years
