Shop Support / Draftsman - Fluid Process Equipment

The Shop Support/Draftsman position will support our Rotating Equipment Repair business. This position will report to the Operations Manager, and work together with the Shop Foreman, Technical Repair Specialist and Inside Shop Coordinator. This position will be responsible for both providing shop drawings and repair reports, as well as participating in overall repair responsibilities, including purchasing and quoting repair jobs.

Responsibilities:
1. Interpret specifications and customer requirements to create/modify drawings
2. Create shop drawings from customer-supplied prints
3. Create shop drawings from conceptual designs.
4. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments
5. Ensure completeness and accuracy of all CAD work, and maintain electronic database for drawings and job file organization
6. Design fixtures and jigs to improve repair processes
7. Prepare end-of-job repair reports for customers
8. Qualify outside shops and be responsible for making sure quality inspection forms are received
9. Assist management in associate development/training in relation to shop documentation best practices
10. Assist with preparing repair quotes
11. Assist with ordering materials and expediting
12. Assist with other job management functions as needed

Qualifications:
1. Associates Degree in CAD, or equivalent, with technical knowledge of mechanical drawings
2. Ability to draw parts and be proficient in CAD/CAM applications
3. Ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings, geometric dimensions, tolerances and quality specifications
4. Familiarity with machining, welding and general shop processes
5. Ability to work directly with shop employees, management and other support staff
6. Good written and verbal communication skills
7. Ability to multi-task and rearrange priorities to meet deadlines
8. Self-motivated and highly organized
