Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Shop Maintenance & Fleet Support Technician to help keep both of our body shop locations running smoothly day-to-day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in a clean and safe workspace, and can handle everything from general shop repairs and cleanliness to basic preventive maintenance and upkeep of our loaner vehicle fleet.

This position is critical to shop efficiency — you’ll be the person who helps make sure equipment works, the facility stays organized, and loaner vehicles are clean, safe, and ready to go.

Key Responsibilities

General Shop Repairs & Cleanliness

Handle general shop repairs and handyman-type tasks as needed

Keep the shop clean, organized, and professional-looking at all times

Maintain safe walkways, clean work areas, and tidy storage areas

Take initiative on daily clean-up tasks and spot issues before they become problems

Shop & Facility Maintenance

Perform routine facility maintenance (doors, lighting, shop fixtures, small repairs, etc.)

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of shop work areas, storage areas, and exterior grounds

Coordinate basic building upkeep (trash removal, sweeping, seasonal tasks, etc.)

Report building/structure issues and help coordinate outside vendors when needed

Equipment & Tool Maintenance

Perform basic preventive maintenance on shop equipment (air lines, compressors, lifts, welders, etc.)

Assist with organization and upkeep of shop tools and equipment storage

Identify worn/damaged tools/equipment, tag out when needed, and communicate to leadership

Loaner Fleet Upkeep

Inspect loaner vehicles (lights, tires, fluids, brakes feel, wipers, safety items, etc.)

Coordinate routine oil changes, tire rotations, inspections, registration reminders, etc.

Move loaners between shop locations as needed and ensure keys/logs are maintained

Support / Shop Operations

Assist with parts runs, pickup/delivery, and errands as needed

Help stage vehicles, move vehicles around lot, and keep parking areas organized

Perform general support tasks to reduce downtime and keep production flowing

Help with snow removal during winter months

Qualifications

Prior experience in maintenance, light mechanical work, detailing, or facility support is preferred

Comfortable using hand tools and performing minor repairs independently

Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety

Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision

Must have a
valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Able to lift 50 lbs. and work on your feet in an active shop environment

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience working in an auto body shop, dealership, mechanic shop, or similar environment

Basic automotive knowledge (fluids, batteries, tires, simple inspections)

Bobcat and tow truck experience (or willingness to get certified)

Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate clearly

Work Environment

Auto body / collision repair facility

Exposure to noise, dust, and shop conditions

Requires standing, bending, lifting, and working indoors/outdoors
