Founded in 2014, DWS Energy is a rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary electrical construction company focused on electrical pre-fabrication services in our UL-508A certified panel shop, commercial industrial controls wiring, and utility-scale solar and battery storage (new construction and operations & maintenance). The organization has expanded its service offerings throughout its tenure and continues to grow at an accelerated rate.

OVERVIEW:                     

The Shop Helper – Industrial role is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of new panels and retrofits, shop safety, cleanliness, organization, stocking, and any other task assigned by management.  While the main function of this position will be located in the Midland Shop, some field work will be required at times.

DUTIES: The duties and responsibilities of the Shop Helper may include but is not limited to:

Fabricate PLC and Electrical Panels.

Retrofit PLC and Electrical Panels.

Perform testing and validation of equipment to ensure proper functionality.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the shop and/or in the field as needed.

Attend shop and/or job site meetings to understand safety, project scope, schedule, and resolve issues.

Participate in shop cleaning and organization.

Participate in the parts inventory program.

Attend required meetings and classes assigned by the customer.

Provide training for new employees in the same role.

Document work on the required QC Forms.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Any additional task assigned by the Branch Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: The following are required skills and qualifications:

Electrical and fabrication industry experience is preferred.

At least 5 years of proven experience as a shop helper or panel fabricator.

Strong technical skills and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to travel to client sites if required.

Valid Driver’s License.

REQUIREMENTS: The following are physical requirements:

Must be able to lift and/or carry equipment and materials up to 75 lbs.

Must be able to do prolonged periods of sitting at desks, stooping, kneeling, bending

Occasional exposure to outside weather on job sites.

Ability to walk job sites for prolonged periods of time.

Follow DWS Safety Policy and Procedures.

Attend and pass education classes as needed.

Follow the DWS Drug and Alcohol Policy.
