Salary: $50,000.00 - $68,000.00 / Annually

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Mechanic to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of construction equipment and vehicles. This role supports safe and efficient operations on job sites by ensuring all tools and machinery are in top working condition.

 Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues with construction equipment, trucks, and tools.

Perform regular maintenance (oil changes, brake checks, tire replacements, fluid checks).

Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Maintain service records and schedule preventative maintenance.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.

Coordinate with site managers on equipment availability and repairs.

Occasionally assist with minor welding and fabrication work.

Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.

 Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification preferred.

2+ years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in construction or heavy equipment.

Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and diagnostics.

Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical drawings.

Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus.

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions.

Preferred Skills:

Certification from ASE, NCCER, or equivalent is a plus.

Experience with equipment from Caterpillar, Bobcat, John Deere, or similar brands.

Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally.

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.

Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Must be physically capable of working in active construction environments, indoors or outdoors.

Additional Requirements

Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Must be eligible for respirator fit testing and wear required PPE (clean-shaven policy applies).

Travel may be required to job sites; primary work location will be the Paso Robles, CA facility.
