JOB SUMMARY:
The Shop Foreman is responsible for leading and supporting a team of technicians while actively participating in daily shop operations. Reporting to the Fleet Maintenance Manager, this role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead, mentor, and support shop technicians through daily direction, coaching, and hands-on training
Assist with and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment, including semis, tractor trailers, loaders, skid steers, and mid-size trucks
Coordinate daily shop workflow, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex repairs as needed
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulations
Conduct quality control inspections and verify accuracy of completed work
Support inventory management, parts ordering, and cost control efforts
Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
Assist in enforcing safety protocols and conducting shop safety meetings
Collaborate with management to improve shop efficiency and address operational challenges
Additional responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of hands-on fleet maintenance or heavy equipment repair experience
Prior leadership or foreman experience preferred
Ability to meet Premier's guidelines for driver eligibility/insurability
ASE Certification preferred
CDL-A Driver’s License preferred
Ability to read technical manuals and complete repair documentation in English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Extended periods of standing, walking, and working in a shop environment
Frequent use of tools, equipment, computers, and mobile devices
Occasional stooping, bending, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
