Position Overview
The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator supports the efficient operations of our Warehouse by logging orders, routing, shipping, and tracking outsourced parts. In this position you will spend approximately 50% of your time in the shipping office, and 50% of your time in the warehouse driving counterbalance/reach truck, conducting cycle counts, and ensuring inventory accuracy. You will also be responsible for the transportation, billing, and service activities of our 3PL customers.
This is an onsite role with hours of work from 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday. Our facility is located at 756 Bishop Street North in Cambridge, ON.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ship and receive subcontracted materials, assemble orders and prepares goods for shipment (staging)
Create and process required paperwork for shipping and receiving transfers for outsourcing
Coordinate & maintain subcontracting and driver schedule
Coordinate with freight to schedule pickups for products that require full truck load (FTL)
Maintains product inventory accuracy, documentation and location through regular controlled processes (including FIFO and cycle counting) in warehouse
Perform audit, verify the inventory quantity and assist in the inventory level maintenance
Ensure inventory database is updated with audit results
Communicate all variances or discrepancies to appropriate departments immediately
Receive, unpack, inspect, and store incoming materials
Receive and move materials within the warehouse as needed
Operate warehouse equipment (ie. forklift, reach truck) in a safe manner
Process all cycle counts, send out weekly communication of results from counts and leads the yearly inventory count
Assist in projects and perform other duties as required by the Warehouse Supervisor
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping/receiving, order management, and material picking
Must be able to obtain certification to drive a counterbalance forklift (training provided in-house)
Reach truck experience is an asset (training provided in-house)
1-3 years experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Experience in using ERP system required (Epicor experience considered an asset)
Knowledge of 3PL warehouse service operations with experience of 3PL warehouse work considered an asset
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Effective problem-solver and able to organize materials to optimize space
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Compensation
$24-$26 per hour
