Shipping Clerk (SSD)

Job Summary: Perform shipping and receiving of products with supervision.  Process paperwork using an ERP System.  Prepare and package finished goods. Assist in the stockroom and on the assembly floor as needed.  Daily responsibilities will vary depending on current departmental needs.  

Job Duties:    Minimum job duties include the following.  

Plan and coordinate the movement of outgoing shipments.

Prepare shipping documents, commercial invoices, and packing lists, etc.

Select appropriate packaging materials and pack goods securely for shipping.

Verify that orders are filled correctly and accurately.

Organize and track shipping supplies.

Coordinate with Customer Service/Order Entry.

Apply shipping labels with accurate addresses and tracking information.

Coordinate with UPS/FedEx/DHL to schedule pickups and deliveries and provide quotes.

Maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping documents and inventory records.

Provide order and tracking information to customers.

Print the Shipping Pick List and pull all materials to be shipped from designated stockroom locations.

Respond to all outside companies delivering materials and picking up freight.

Process and complete work orders according to the router that correlates with the shipping department.

Perform cycle counts and participate in annual inventory.

Perform daily housekeeping duties, keeping the area clean and organized.

Other duties may be assigned.

Skills/Experience:  One (1) year of experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Good communication skills, basic math skills related to dimensions and quantities, and proficiency in MS Office are required. Must be able to multitask, be mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education:  High School diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical demands:   Able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time.  Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs., operate equipment like pallet jacks, and have good manual dexterity.
