The Shipper-receiver is a key part of Multi-Power's current Inventory team and is responsible for shipping and receiving parts and goods (international & domestic) This position is for a candidate who is detail oriented and loves working in a busy environment and has previous experience with customs paperwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Acquiring quotes from freight companies for incoming/outgoing shipments
Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping
Prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or in a computer system, pack goods to be shipped and affix information and shipping instructions
Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
Maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems
Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
Completing receipt entry to required freight charges, exchange rates and brokerage charges
Customs Rating & Classification: Expertise in classifying goods and determining correct tariff treatments.
Trade Compliance: Deep knowledge of customs regulations
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
5+ years, experience in a related clerical occupation or as a warehouse worker may be required
Good communication skills
Good organizational skills
High School graduate, Grade 12
Current driver’s license
Physically fit (routinely required to lift items up to 25 kilograms)
