Position Summary
PermaCorp is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to support our Edmonton manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the efficient coordination of incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining organized inventory and pallet storage, and ensuring materials are accurately received, staged, and prepared to support production and delivery needs.
The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, organized, physically capable, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and efficient shipping and receiving area within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and delivery documentation
Inspect incoming goods for accuracy, damage, or shortages and report discrepancies promptly
Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and staging materials for internal transfers, customer deliveries, or external carriers
Coordinate with production, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure materials are available and moved efficiently
Load and unload materials, products, and supplies safely using appropriate equipment
Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, documentation, and logs
Inventory & Material Control
Assist with inventory organization, stock counts, and material tracking within the facility
Ensure raw materials, finished goods, and consumables are stored in designated locations
Support cycle counts and help identify inventory discrepancies or shortages
Move and stage materials as needed to support fabrication, finishing, or shipping priorities
Monitor pallet quantities, storage conditions, and material flow to maintain efficient operations
Facility & Pallet Organization
Maintain organized pallet storage areas, including sorting, stacking, and disposal or reuse of damaged/unusable pallets
Keep shipping, receiving, and staging areas clean, orderly, and free of hazards
Support general warehouse and yard organization to improve workflow and accessibility
Ensure material storage aligns with safety expectations and operational best practices
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety procedures, including safe lifting, equipment use, and material handling practices
Wear required PPE and maintain a strong focus on housekeeping and hazard prevention
Report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or equipment concerns promptly
Support compliance with company policies, inventory controls, and operational procedures
Qualifications
Previous experience in a shipping/receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing support role preferred
Forklift certification and/or experience operating material handling equipment is required
Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment considered a strong asset
Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials in a physically active role
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with paperwork, inventory, and shipment verification
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting
Basic computer skills for tracking shipments, inventory, or internal systems preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production and operations teams
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required
Working Conditions
Work is based in a manufacturing facility and may include warehouse, shop floor, and outdoor yard support
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift
Exposure to production noise, dust, and changing temperatures depending on work area
Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment frequently required
