Sheet Metal Technician (Metal Cutting)

SHEET METAL TECHNICIAN (METAL CUTTING)

• Prepare, run, setup, and operate the Shear Machine

• Prepare, shear, issue material electronically, and if needed submit RFPO

• Manage Sheet Metal material inventory by accurately issuing material to provide material support to Waterjet, Punch Press, and Laser Machines

• Receive incoming material and properly scan to the designated location

• Responsible for overall area safety, delivery targets, and creative ways to increase product reliability, efficiency, and reduce overall cost

• Understand blueprint reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate

• 3+ years of experience working with precision equipment (scales, calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.)

• 1+ years of experience with the setup and operation of JMT Shear Machine or any Shear Brand Machine

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to meet daily/weekly production goals with critical time schedules

• Ability to read blueprints and complete basic math

• Ability to run and operate Shear Machine

• Experience in material handling and production coordinating are essentials

• Ability to manage the Sheet Metal material inventory i.e. receiving, submit RFPO, Shear, and issuing materials

• Experience in operating Waterjet, Punch Press, and Laser Machines

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work the following shifts:

• Monday to Friday, 5:00AM – 3:30PM

• Must be willing to work overtime, and/or weekends as needed

• Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Sheet Metal Technician/Level 1: $23.00 - $27.00/hour
Sheet Metal Technician/Level 2: $26.00 - $32.50/hour
Sheet Metal Technician/Level 3: $31.00 - $38.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
