Shariah Consultation Lead

This role is primarily responsible for delivering expert consultations in accordance with the notices, standards, and directives issued by the Higher Shari’ah Authority (HSA), as well as the Fatwas and Resolutions provided by RAKislamic’s Internal Shari’ah Supervision Committee (ISSC).

What You’ll Do

• Providing expert consultation on contracts, documents, and financial offerings in line with ISSC fatwas and resolutions.
• Reviewing product manuals, policies, procedures, and marketing materials to ensure Shari’ah compliance.
• Advising on the development and customization of Shari’ah-compliant documentation for products and services.
• Supporting internal departments with Shari’ah-related queries and ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and AAOIFI standards.
• Offering advisory support to business units and branches to maintain adherence to Shari’ah principles.
• Assisting in resolving customer concerns related to Shari’ah compliance.
• Collaborating with team members across Shari’ah Compliance, Research & Development, Secretariat, and Training functions.

What We're Looking For  

• Bachelor’s degree in Shari’ah, Islamic Finance, or Business Studies.
• Professional certification such as CSAA, CPSS (AAOIFI), or Islamic banking certification from CIBAFI.
• At least 5 years of experience in Islamic banking, including a minimum of 2 years in a Shari’ah department.
• Deep understanding of Islamic banking structures, Shari’ah governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Shari’ah principles, AAOIFI standards, and resolutions issued by the HSA.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and policy implementation skills.
• Solid knowledge of banking operations, finance, and accounting within an Islamic context.
