About Seton College

Seton College is a new two-year college division of UMSV that offers an associate’s degree for students that have been historically underserved, who may require additional academic support, and who are motivated for post-secondary success. The program’s goal is to prepare students to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program. Job Description:

The Student Success and Engagement Coordinator supports the holistic development, well-being, and engagement of students at Seton College. This role helps students successfully transition into and navigate college life by connecting them with campus resources, student engagement opportunities, and wellness support. Working collaboratively with campus life staff, faculty, and community partners, the role helps foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can build meaningful connections, access support, and actively participate in the campus community. Through outreach, programming, and resource coordination, the position promotes student success, personal growth, and a strong sense of belonging.

Responsibilities:

• This position provides holistic support and guidance to students enrolled in Seton College, promoting their academic success, personal development, and engagement in campus life.
• Serves as a key point of contact to help students acclimate to the college environment by connecting them with campus resources, student organizations, leadership opportunities, and co-curricular programming.
• Works collaboratively with Seton College and UMSV staff and faculty, and advisors to support student development and foster a sense of belonging within the campus community.
• Assists students in navigating college systems and resources, including but not limited to academic support services, financial aid, wellness resources, and student engagement.
• Provides guidance and support to students to help facilitate student success and adjustment to college life.
• In collaboration with Seton College staff and campus partners, develops and implements programming that promotes student well-being, personal growth, leadership development, and community engagement.
• Supports the planning and delivery of major programming initiatives within Seton College, including summer orientation, wellness and student development programming, career exploration opportunities, and community-building events.
• Maintains strong knowledge of internal campus services as well as external community and government resources, and facilitates referrals when appropriate.
• Serves as a liaison between Seton College, campus life offices, and community organizations to enhance student access to support services and engagement opportunities.
• Responds to student concerns and challenges in collaboration with faculty and staff, helping students access available resources and supports.
• Participates in training, campus initiatives, and collaborative planning efforts related to student success, engagement, and wellness.
• Maintains appropriate records and documentation and prepares written reports and communications as needed.
• Acts as a resource to staff and faculty regarding student wellness, engagement, and factors that may impact student success.
• Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required; 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in student engagement, education, advocacy, counseling, advising, coaching, or other student-centered work.
• A history of success with project management and program development.
• Strong writing, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Able to develop rapport and build trust with a diverse range of individuals.
• Strong record of using data to inform program design and improvement.
• Requires strong skills in advising, coordinating, group learning, public speaking, and teaching.
• Knowledgeable of opportunity programs such as Higher Education Opportunity Program, TRiO and other college access programs.
• Experience in crisis intervention preferred.
• Experience building relationships with external/community partners preferred.
• Verbal and written communications skills in English and Spanish preferred.
