As a Services Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of hyperscale data centre infrastructure. You’ll ensure all critical systems are maintained to Uptime Institute Operational Sustainability Gold standards, while delivering reliable, high-quality support to both internal teams and customers.
What will you do:
• Operate, monitor, and maintain critical infrastructure to meet uptime commitments
• Coordinate and manage contractors to ensure maintenance aligns with best-practice and UTI standards
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues to minimise downtime
• Perform routine testing, preventative maintenance, and system optimisation
• Participate in a rotating on-call roster to support 24/7 operations
• Work closely with Customer Success and senior technicians to deliver seamless service
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Facility Rules, and company policies
• Escalate incidents in line with established procedures
• Support the achievement and maintenance of data centre certifications
• Maintain accurate documentation (SWIs, EOPs, as-built drawings, etc.)
• Assist with customer equipment handling, installation, and setup
• Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and operational readiness drills
What will you need:
• Foundational knowledge of data centre infrastructure (electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire systems)
•   Understanding of rack installation, design, and cable management
•   Familiarity with relevant standards and regulatory requirements
•   Experience with building management/monitoring systems
•   Proficiency in Microsoft Office
•   Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills
•   Clear communication and ability to collaborate across teams
• 2+ years in data centre facilities, building services, or similar environment
• NV1 Security Clearance (or ability to obtain) – essential
• Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC), or Telecommunications – preferred
• Diploma (or equivalent) in engineering or a related technical field – desirable
