Role Overview:

This role spans support strategy, commercial support solution development, and oversight of operational service delivery as customer fleets enter service and scale. It is a senior leadership role within the Client Services Directorate, working closely with engineering, production, supply chain, and commercial teams.
While experience in defence Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Through Life Support (TLS) is highly valued, we are equally interested in candidates who have led in-service support for complex, high-value engineered assets in other demanding sectors.
Responsibilities will include:
Ownership and development of SubSea Craft’s Through Life Support (TLS) strategy, delivery model, and governance framework.
Leadership of ILS activities across product development and production, ensuring supportability, affordability, and availability are embedded in design and build decisions
Development of costed, contract-ready support solutions aligned to small fleet and export customer requirements
Acting as the primary interface with customers on support strategy, readiness, and sustainment matters
Supporting early operational service and fleet expansion, including maintenance, spares, upgrades, warranty and repairs, technical documentation, field service and technical support
Definition and oversight of SubSea Craft’s service centre model, including depot-level maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities
Coordination of internal stakeholders across engineering, production, supply chain, commercial and training functions
Management of specialist suppliers and partners involved in service delivery
Line management and leadership of the ILS / TLS team
Monitor service performance, drive continuous improvement, and incorporate in-service feedback into design and future bids
Lead pragmatic, execution-focused ILS activities appropriate to high-value platforms and small fleet operations, including:
Maintenance concept definition and levels of maintenance
Spares identification, provisioning, and stockholding strategies
Support equipment definition
Supportability inputs to design
Technical documentation and support data
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience leading in-service support or sustainment for complex, high-value engineered assets (defence, maritime, aerospace, rail, offshore energy, or similar asset-intensive sectors)
Strong practical understanding of asset lifecycle management, maintainability, reliability, and support cost drivers
Experience building or improving service delivery models, field service operations, warranty/MRO functions, or fleet support organisations
Ability to develop costed support solutions and contribute to commercial bids or long-term service agreements
Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams to influence product supportability
Leadership experience within scaling, evolving, or transformation-stage organisations
Strong stakeholder engagement capability, including acting as a credible customer-facing representative
Experience with defence Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) or Through Life Support (TLS) frameworks
