What you’ll achieve

We are seeking a passionate and visionary Systems Lead Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be at the helm of solution-level engineering for AI enterprise system hardware across compute, storage, and networking. You will lead and inspire a multi-disciplined engineering team and partner with other leaders within Dell’s cross-functional organization, driving excellence and innovation in every aspect of your project, managing high-complexity AI products through the entire lifecycle. You will:

• Architectural Leadership and Collaboration: Engage with internal Dell team members, vendors, and technical partners across global sites to drive architectural excellence in product design. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure alignment and success.

• Development and Integration Management: Oversee and coordinate development efforts across diverse engineering teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery. Work across subsystems including hardware design for high-speed signal circuit boards, CPU & memory complexes, GPUs and accelerators, network devices and fabrics, enterprise storage arrays, direct liquid cooling solutions, AC-DC and DC-DC power architectures, Dell iDRAC systems management software, BIOS, FPGA, firmware, enterprise operating systems, and data center rack-solution designs.

• Quality Assurance and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring the highest quality standards. Design and implement robust test plans to validate system performance and reliability.

• Strategic Business and Portfolio Management: Apply strong business insights to drive strategic decisions and optimize project outcomes to meet our customers’ needs. Drive solution and release readiness with a closed-loop focus on best practices across portfolios and business units.

• Vendor and Technical Partner Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and technical partners to ensure alignment and success. Engage in root cause analysis and defect resolution to maintain high-quality standards.

Essential Requirements

• Development Engineering Expertise: Strong background in development engineering of compute, storage, and networking architectures, with proven experience in designing solution-level AI enterprise data center systems.

• Leadership and Team Management: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire multi-disciplined engineering workgroups to achieve outstanding results. Strong ability to influence others to drive project success.

• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.

• Quality Assurance and Problem Solving: Expertise in root cause analysis, defect resolution, and test plan architecture to ensure high-quality standards.

• Strategic Business Acumen: Strong business acumen to drive strategic initiatives and optimize project outcomes. Educational requirements include 12 to 15 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years with a master’s degree.
