Job Description
SEO Specialist — Remote (Full-Time)
About the Role
Trademark Hardware, a US-based direct-to-consumer (DTC) company specializing in commercial door hardware, is seeking a dedicated SEO Specialist to lead organic search growth and recover Google Shopping visibility. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will own the SEO strategy end-to-end, working closely with the CEO and in-house web team.
Our website previously attracted ~2,000 daily visitors but has experienced significant traffic decline, including a major Google Shopping drop in mid-2025. Your mission is to diagnose, resolve, and reverse this trend to restore and grow our digital presence.
Key Responsibilities
Immediate Priorities (First 60–90 Days):
• Diagnose and resolve Google Merchant Center visibility issues, including the 50% drop in Shopping clicks.
• Correct product feed brand attribution (currently 97% listed as “Unknown”). Collaborate with web team (FinestShops X-Cart) to ensure accurate brand data.
• Audit and optimize top organic landing pages (6 pages with 7M+ impressions but low CTR). Improve titles, meta descriptions, schema, and internal linking.
• Improve rankings for high-volume category keywords (e.g., “door threshold,” “door seal,” “door weather stripping”) targeting page 1, top 5 positions.
Ongoing Work:
• Weekly SEO performance reporting (rankings, traffic, conversions).
• Continuous on-page optimization across category and product pages.
• Develop content strategy for buyer-intent and informational queries.
• Execute link-building campaigns with industry publications, contractor associations, and hardware blogs.
• Enhance technical SEO (Core Web Vitals, schema markup, site speed, mobile UX).
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4, proactively addressing issues.
• Collaborate with web developers (FinestShops) and copywriters/blog team for technical and content improvements.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years of SEO experience for ecommerce brands.
• Strong expertise in Google Merchant Center & Google Shopping (critical — will be tested).
• Proven track record in recovering Google Shopping visibility drops.
• Hands-on experience with Google Search Console (manual actions, indexing, performance).
• Fluency in Google Analytics 4, including custom reporting.
• Technical SEO expertise (schema markup, site speed, mobile UX, internal linking).
• On-page SEO mastery (title tags, meta descriptions, keyword research, content optimization).
• Familiarity with ecommerce platforms (X-Cart, Shopify, etc.).
• Strong written English skills for US-based audience.
• Self-directed, organized, proactive problem-solver.
