Wise is looking for an AI-driven SEO Content Specialist to join our growing team in Tokyo. 

This is a content strategy role responsible for the planning and production of SEO optimised blog content for Japan to help generate increasing organic visitors and customers for Wise, with a strong emphasis on leveraging AI tools to scale high-quality content development and optimise production processes.

The role of the AI & Growth focused SEO Content Specialist is to take a more long-term strategic view of their locale (in this case, Japan) and use their SEO skills combined with advanced AI tool implementation to identify and fix more complex problems to drive even more growth.

This person is proactive in contributing to the long-term strategy and opportunities for the wider region, while establishing AI-enhanced workflows that maintain strong content quality standards at scale.

Your Mission:

The goal is generating sustainable customer growth in Japan while taking on a more long-term view of how to drive growth and our marketing channel through SEO strategy and AI tool implementation, that enhances rather than compromises content quality and conversion performance.

KPIs:

The content specialist is responsible for planning, publishing content (not writing content) and generating new customers. Experience with SEO combined with AI tool expertise and demonstrated content quality standards is required in identifying big opportunities, planning, executing and reporting. Someone at this level will be able to independently come up with the KPIs and success metrics for any growth projects, including AI implementation impact. The core KPIs are:

• Production: Content delivered against plan

• Performance: New customers, registrations and customer value

• SEO metrics: Content and locale organic traffic growth, new SERP features

• Quality & AI impact: Measurable improvements in content production processes and scalability without compromising content quality or user value

Responsibilities:

• Planning, optimisation and production of high-quality, conversion-focused SEO blog content to help fuel adoption of Wise, utilising AI tools to enhance efficiency and scale without compromising content standards or conversion potential

• Develop a more long-term strategically aligned plan for Japan that regularly meets or exceeds the forecasted impact

• Owning and sharing meaningful insights about your content performance as well as any growth initiatives/projects

• Keep up to date with industry news, evolving AI landscape, including newer model capabilities and prompt engineering techniques, and SEO insights and proactive in bringing suggestions and ideas that we can test or action

• Independently discover, lead and validate growth projects that go beyond the scope of BAU content production and have regional and/or global impact or learnings, with focus on AI-enhanced processes that scale quality, converting content

• Work with and support your regional lead to take on more responsibility to identify growth opportunities for Japan and the wider APAC region

• Identifying and developing a deeper skill in SEO combined with advanced AI tooling for content operations

About You 

• Proven customer conversion results: Track record of creating SEO content strategies that drive measurable customer acquisition, with specific examples of content pieces or campaigns that generated conversions or impacted other business goals

• AI tooling proficiency: Experience building AI-powered content operations that go beyond basic prompt writing, which have impacted production efficiency and conversion performance

• Quality-first content creation: A track record of producing quality reader-first SEO content. You should be prepared to share a portfolio or specific examples of work that showcases your editorial standards

• Data-driven decision making: Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform content strategy, measure performance, and optimise

• Language Skills: Professional fluency in both English (internal communication) and Japanese (native-level proofreading and editing).

Please be aware that this role requires a background in strategic content planning, not solely content writing or technical SEO. Your primary focus will be on creating long-term content pipelines rather than writing or technical optimisations.

Salary: JPY 6,624,000 - JPY 8,352,000 per annum + RSUs
