Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer to play a key role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining our portfolio of WordPress websites. You will be working very closely with our Tech Lead and Web Dev Manager, contributing to technical decisions and ensuring our websites are fast, scalable, and secure. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem-solver with expertise in WordPress development, performance optimization, and modern web technologies. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to implement best practices and new technologies effectively.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

Develop, maintain, and optimize WordPress websites, ensuring high performance and scalability.

Implement custom themes and plugins, ensuring best practices in security and maintainability.

Optimize websites for performance and SEO, while including improvements to Core Web Vitals.

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.

Work with Git for version control and collaborate using GitHub or similar tools.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across different environments.

Stay up to date with the latest WordPress developments, plugins, and web technologies.

Work with DevOps teams to manage hosting, CDNs, and caching solutions for optimal website performance.

Develop Integrations for WordPress sites with 3rd-party platforms and tools.

TO DO IT, YOU WILL NEED:

4+ years of experience in web development with a focus on WordPress.

Strong expertise in WordPress architecture, including core functionality,

REST API, custom theme & plugin development, and block development.

Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and MySQ

Experience with performance tuning and optimization strategies for WordPress websites.

Familiarity with SEO best practices, including technical SEO and Core Web Vitals improvements would be considered an asset.

Knowledge of caching strategies, including CDNs and WordPress caching mechanisms would be considered an asset.

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with infrastructure platforms like Cloudflare, AWS, and other hosting solutions.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
