Senior Video Editor (12 Months Contract)

Informa Markets, a division within Informa, creates global platforms for industries to trade, innovate and grow. We organise over 450 large-scale branded and transaction-led events in over a dozen specialist markets. These are typically not-to-be-missed live and on-demand B2B events where industries convene and people gather to do business.

We also provide data and digital content, as well as year-round online platforms where companies showcase their businesses and products and buyers conduct research, generating valuable leads.

This role is based in our Cairo Festival City Business Park, New Cairo, Cairo, Egypt office.

Position Summary

The Senior Video Editor is responsible for producing high-quality video content that meets brand, creative, and technical standards. This role requires strong cinematic editing expertise, advanced storytelling skills, and the ability to enhance productions through motion graphics, sound design, visual composition, and generative technologies. The position also involves providing constructive input on scripts and concepts to ensure feasibility, pacing, and effectiveness in the final edit.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, collaborative, and able to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. They are also comfortable leveraging generative AI tools, including footage and voice over generation, to enhance workflow efficiency and create world-class visual and audio outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit professional video content using cinematic storytelling techniques.
• Evaluate scripts and storyboards and provide expert recommendations to improve structure, pacing, and clarity prior to production or editing.
• Identify potential creative or technical challenges and suggest solutions.
• Synchronize visuals with music and sound design to enhance emotional impact.
• Create and integrate motion graphics, titles, and visual elements to elevate production quality.
• Design title cards, lower thirds, and end frames using sound layout and composition principles.
• Apply fundamental graphic design knowledge (typography, hierarchy, alignment, spacing, color balance) to video outputs.
• Utilize generative AI tools to support editing, visual enhancement, and voice-over creation.
• Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
• Organize project files, assets, and timelines for efficient workflow and collaboration.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Ensure all deliverables meet technical specifications and deadlines.
• Recommend workflow improvements and production efficiencies, leveraging AI tools where appropriate.

• Bachelor’s degree in Film, Multimedia, Media Production, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven professional experience as a Video Editor, preferably in a senior or lead role.
• Strong cinematic editing portfolio demonstrating storytelling, pacing, and visual quality.
• Excellent understanding of timing, music integration, and sound design.
• Solid foundation in design principles and visual composition.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop.
• Knowledge and practical experience using generative AI tools for video enhancement and voice-over creation.
• Strong project organization and file management skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and ability to receive and apply feedback constructively.

Preferred / Additional Skills

• Advanced expertise in motion graphics and animation (highly advantageous).
• Experience working in fast-paced production or agency environments.
• Knowledge of color grading workflows and video optimization for multiple platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to suggest creative and process improvements using AI tools.
