About the role
This role will drive business growth across JioStar’s Entertainment portfolio comprising of General Entertainment, Movies, Kids, Youth, International and Star Studio 18 across linear & streaming , operating at the intersection of strategy, monetization, and execution.
The mandate is to:
• Solve high-impact business problems across content, distribution, and monetization
• Build new revenue streams and scale existing ones
• Drive cross-screen thinking (TV + Streaming + CTV) across decision-making
While AI and emerging capabilities are anchored separately today, this role is expected to actively translate these into business impact, with the potential to take on a broader Growth & Innovation mandate over time.
What You Will Own
1. Own Business Strategy with Execution Accountability
• Lead high-impact problem statements across the entertainment business
• Translate strategy into clear plans, operating rhythms, and measurable outcomes
• Work directly with business heads to drive implementation and closure
Expectation: You own outcomes, not just recommendations
2. Build and Scale Monetization
• Own growth across core revenue streams (Ads + Subscriptions), working with business teams to unlock incremental value
• Build and scale new revenue engines beyond ads/subscriptions (e.g., consumer monetization, partnerships, new business models)
Expectation: Deliver material revenue impact across both existing and new streams
3. Drive Cross-Screen Business Thinking
• Help unify decision-making across linear TV, streaming, and CTV
• Influence content and investment decisions through integrated performance frameworks
Expectation: You think in terms of consumer behavior, not platforms
4. Lead Strategic Initiatives & Whitespaces
• Identify and build new opportunities across:
• Content formats (especially scalable, high-frequency formats like non-fiction)
• Partnerships and ecosystem plays
• New business models
• Support development and scaling of high-potential IPs and formats
Expectation: You can take ideas from concept → execution → scale
6. Operate as an Enterprise Leader
• Work across content, marketing, product, ad sales, finance, and distribution
• Align senior stakeholders on priorities, trade-offs, and execution
• Step in to drive closure on critical initiatives
Expectation: You can drive outcomes in a complex, matrixed organization
Success Metrics
• Ability to independently run large business charters end-to-end
• Incremental impact on revenue, viewership and margins
• Number and scale of new revenue streams built
Candidate Profile
We are not prioritizing traditional media backgrounds.
We are looking for leaders who:
• Have 12–18 years of experience in consulting, start ups having scaled something from 0 to 1, consumer tech, platforms, or scaled consumer businesses
• Have built or scaled businesses, products, or new verticals
• Are comfortable owning P&L-linked outcomes
• Have strong first-principles thinking and problem-solving ability
• Can operate in ambiguity with speed and clarity
