Who We Are

Imagine Pediatrics is a tech enabled, pediatrician led medical group reimagining care for children with special health care needs. We deliver 24/7 virtual first and in home medical, behavioral, and social care, working alongside families, providers, and health plans to break down barriers to quality care. We do not replace existing care teams; we enhance them, providing an extra layer of support with compassion, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to children with medical complexity.

The primary location for this role is remote, travel is estimated to be up to 25%, and expected schedule requirements are Monday to Friday, 8-5:00 local time.

What You’ll Do

The SVP of Behavioral Health is a senior clinical and operational leader responsible for building, scaling, and leading an integrated behavioral health strategy for pediatric populations with complex medical, behavioral, and social needs, many of whom are covered by Medicaid.

This role requires a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with deep experience serving high acuity, underserved populations and operating in value‑based or risk bearing environments.

The SVP partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer and executive leadership to design and operationalize care models that improve access, advance health equity, and drive measurable outcomes, including reductions in avoidable emergency department use, inpatient admissions, and total cost of care. In this role you will:

Behavioral Health Strategy and Clinical Leadership

• Define and execute the pediatric behavioral health strategy aligned with Medicaid and value‑based contracts

• Build and scale integrated services across the full spectrum of behavioral health needs, including serious mental illness and neurodevelopmental disorders

• Establish evidence‑based, trauma‑informed, and family‑centered care models for high‑risk pediatric populations

• Lead clinical quality, safety, and outcomes measurement across all behavioral health services

• Reduce disparities in access, engagement, and outcomes for underserved populations

Operations, Value-Based Care, and Performance

• Partner with operations, product, and analytics teams to design efficient, scalable, and compliant care delivery models

• Align behavioral health services with utilization management strategies, including diversion from emergency and inpatient settings

• Define, track, and manage performance metrics tied to value‑based contracts, including utilization, access, engagement, and cost of care

• Serve as a clinical leader in payer partnerships, supporting program design, performance reviews, and quality alignment

• Ensure compliance with Medicaid requirements and state‑specific behavioral health regulations

Team Leadership, Collaboration, and Direct Care

• Assist in recruitment, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary behavioral health team using scalable models that extend psychiatric expertise

• Collaborate with primary care, specialty care, care management, and community partners to ensure seamless integration

• Support enterprise‑wide behavioral health education and capability building

• Provide direct patient care at approximately 50 percent initially, decreasing as the service line scales

What You Bring & How You Qualify

First and foremost, you’re passionate and committed to reimagining pediatric health care and creating a world where every child with complex medical conditions gets the care and support they deserve.

• MD or DO with board certification in Psychiatry and subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

• Active, unrestricted medical license; multi‑state licensure strongly preferred

• 7 to 10+ years of clinical experience, including significant work with Medicaid or underserved pediatric populations

• Demonstrated success building and scaling behavioral health programs

• Experience with Medicaid structures, waivers, and quality metrics such as HEDIS

• Expertise in integrated care models and telehealth

• Proven leadership in high‑growth, matrixed organizations

• Experience working with PMHNPs; background in autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities preferred
