Senior UX Designer

We’re looking for a skilled UX designer to work on our Digital Banking suite and take our mobile and web experiences to the next level.

Meet the job
You will be designing mobile and web experiences within Backbase’s Digital Banking value streams. We create platforms for retail, business and commercial banking, so there are always interesting design opportunities to pick from. Maybe you love the challenge of creating quick, delightful, mobile interfaces for retail users. Or perhaps you’re fascinated by designing powerful, data-rich interfaces for finance professionals. You might well get a chance to do both!
You’ll be a critical member of your product team. You’ll work directly with product and development team leaders across the full product lifecycle, to take stories and projects from concept all the way through to elegant finished design. You’ll use AI to support you with competitor research, sketching, prototyping, user testing. You’ll build hi-fi designs using our comprehensive design system. You’ll also spend time with other Digital Banking designers in India and Europe for support, feedback, inspiration and fun.
While the role is primarily focused on UX, we are also looking for someone who is very competent with figma and UI design. You’ll need to create pleasing, hi-fidelity layouts using the design system, manage large and complex figma files, and occasionally to design new components.

We offer the possibility of working hybrid - at least twice a week you will be working from the office in Hyderabad.

You love conceptualising, designing solutions that are easy, powerful and delightful for people to use. You’ve got experience keeping users front-of-mind throughout the innovation process, with user research and testing. You know how to persuade and engage stakeholders and colleagues across the organisation, to make good design happen. You have a systematic and reliable approach to working out what needs to be done, and making sure it happens on time. You’re meticulous and thoughtful about the user experiences you design.
To really ace this role, we think you’ll need:

Must haves:
5+ years experience designing UI/UX for web and mobile applications;
Experience designing financial products, or complex, info-heavy products in a business environment.
A strong understanding of interaction design fundamentals, processes and methods.
Solid UI design skills, so you can assemble clear and appealing designs using design language and design system elements, and create custom components occasionally.
Figma as your tool of choice.
Experience using AI to help you execute a deeper design process within time constraints.
Persuasive, engaging and clear communication skills in English,
An eagerness to learn, but also to teach and mentor
