We are seeking a highly motivated insurance professional for a U.S.-based hybrid or remote role reporting to the Head of U.S. Property. This individual will play a pivotal role in the development, launch, and expansion of our U.S. E&S Property portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to help build a modern, agile E&S Property platform from the ground up.
This role will focus on Excess & Surplus (E&S) lines placements for Property coverages, including Critical Catastrophe exposures, for middle market and commercial entities utilizing the Hamilton Select platform.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with wholesale brokers and clients in the U.S. This role will include business travel.
What you will do
Drive high-volume production by efficiently sourcing, triaging, and underwriting a large flow of E&S Property submissions across all risk sizes and complexities.
Execute the full underwriting workflow, including:
Daily broker engagement to generate submission flow and expand trading relationships.
Rapid triage and prioritization of incoming opportunities to focus on accounts with the highest probability of binding.
Fast, accurate risk evaluation, applying underwriting judgment, CAT insights, and pricing tools to determine structure, attachment strategy, and terms.
Negotiate and issue quotes using critical thinking, market awareness, and competitive positioning.
Bind and authorize accounts within delegated underwriting authority.
Maintain a strong market presence by attending broker meetings, industry events, and conducting regular travel to key trading partners.
Ensure underwriting discipline, adhering to guidelines, appetite, and risk-selection standards while still driving production goals.
Strengthen and deepen broker relationships, positioning yourself as a go‑to market underwriter for E&S property opportunities.
Help develop and refine underwriting processes, tools, and workflows to support a fast-moving, high-volume business environment.
Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new team members as the portfolio grows.
