A Day in the Life

We are looking for an experienced, independent and eager to learn Senior Trade Compliance Analyst to support our manufacturing facilities in Ireland. As a key member of the EMEA Trade Compliance team, you will ensure the seamless international flow of goods while maintaining strict adherence to the Union Customs Code regulation. This role is ideal for an experienced customs professional who combines customs technical knowledge and a strong operational drive for excellence.

You are a self-motivated professional capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with a remote EMEA team. Role is 4 days onsite.

A Day in The Life Of:

You will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of trade compliance activities for Medtronic’s Irish manufacturing plants. 

• Customs Operations: Manage day-to-day import/export queries & run the Inward Processing Relief (IPR) regime 
• Authority Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for Irish Revenue (Tax & Customs), assisting with all relevant official requests
• Broker Management: Manage customs broker relationships through KPI monitoring, regular business reviews, and ensuring creation and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Technical Compliance: Ensure the correctness of Tariff (HS/CN) classifications and Origin determination
• Utilize SAP ECC and GTS to extract data for analysis and reporting
• Risk Management: research and work on critical customs pain points in order to maintain compliance levels optimal 
• Process Documentation: Document written procedures, process flows, and work instructions to ensure corporate compliance. 

Key Skills & Experience  

• Level 8 Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in International Trade, Business, Law, or a related field
•  Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Trade Compliance or Customs brokerage
• Proven experience with Inward Processing Relief (IPR) and working directly with Irish Revenue authorities
• Strong knowledge of EU CN/HS classification, WCO explanatory notes, and Origin rules
• Proficiency in SAP (ECC and/or GTS)
• Experience with Power BI and advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas)
• Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a high level of accuracy in recordkeeping
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
• Certified Declarant status advantageous  
• Experience in the medical device industry preferable

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
