Your Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for technical components in electronics and mechanical domains• Manage supplier selection, qualification, and performance evaluation
• Act as the primary interface between engineering, production, and suppliers
• Understand technical drawings, BOM structures, and specifications to ensure accurate sourcing and procurement
• Evaluate lead times for electronic components, PCBs, mechanical parts, and assemblies based on technical and production constraints
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery conditions, and long-term supply agreements
• Track purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and proactively manage risks related to delays or shortages. Work closely with R&D during prototype and NPI (New Product Introduction) phases to secure timely material availability
• Identify supply chain risks (e.g., long lead-time components, single-source dependencies) and implement mitigation strategies
• Maintain accurate data and procurement workflows in SAP Business ByDesign
• Monitor market trends, component availability, and supplier developments
• Support cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality or timelines• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and cross-functional communication
Essential Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical purchasing, preferably in robotics, electronics, or mechatronic production environments
• Strong experience working with SAP Business ByDesign (SAP ByD) for procurement and order management
• Solid technical understanding of electronics (PCBs, semiconductors, connectors, EMS suppliers) and mechanical components (machined parts, sheet metal, assemblies)
• Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and BOM structures
• Strong understanding of lead times in electronics and mechanical manufacturing processes
• Experience negotiating with international suppliers
• Strong organizational skills with a structured and detail-oriented working style
• Proven ability to track orders, manage supplier communication, and ensure on-time delivery
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams
Beneficial Skills:
• Experience in robotics or complex mechatronic systems
• Familiarity with EMS providers and PCB manufacturing processes
• Experience with contract manufacturing and supplier audits
• Knowledge of supply chain risk management strategies
• Experience supporting NPI and production ramp-ups
• Chinese or German language skills
• Background in cost analysis and should-cost modeling
