Senior Technical Product Manager

League Studio is the group within Riot Games that creates League of Legends, Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra, along with other titles currently in development. Within League Studio, the Tech Foundations organization supports the ambitions of these games by building products that advance the League game platform and act as catalysts for innovation and efficiency across the Studio.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager (TPM) at Riot, you will combine technical knowledge with product leadership to provide players and game developers with essential features and supporting systems. As a TPM on the Tech Foundation’s China Regional Tech Team, League Studio developers will depend on your products to build player and developer-facing experiences that are specific to Tencent Regions. You will be responsible for partnering with game teams to define product requirements and their success metrics. You will ensure there is a clear articulation of the customer value proposition along with a smooth onboarding experience for game developers to utilize your products and features. You will also be responsible for ensuring that your product has well defined and upheld reliability measures.

You will also be a key driver of strong delivery processes within the team and ensure smooth collaboration with external teams. In this role, you'll manage product backlogs, oversee delivery, maintain execution, and provide leadership with visibility on complex deliverables. You’ll also ensure your team operates at a sustainable pace.

You will report to the Senior Director of Technical Product Management in Tech Foundations.

Responsibilities:

• Own a product space that provides League of Legends and Team Fight Tactics game developers the capabilities and features needed to support Tencent Regions.

• Manage essential customer and partner relationships, including game teams and central platform teams that support your product space.

• Create a product roadmap and manage a prioritized backlog for your product space, ensuring your team is working on the highest value work.

• Create high quality product requirements documents that fully define the product or feature including any needed player facing user experience, SDK, and/or API design.

• Partner with your Engineering Manager peer to ensure the engineering architecture and design will meet the product requirements.

• Facilitate the team in making clear, actionable commitments, and ensure successful delivery from discovery to release through effective project management and troubleshooting risks by reviewing release plans and team roadmaps, identifying optimization opportunities.

• Develop and uphold service-level objectives and agreements for your product space, in collaboration all core customers and supporting organizations.

• Partner with the other China Regional Tech Team leads to foster a high velocity, high performance organization.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of technical product management or product related experience with strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field), or equivalent experience.

• Excellent collaboration, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences, fostering alignment and understanding.

• Proven ability to navigate resource constraints and deliver cost optimized, pragmatic solutions that meet customer needs.

• Proven collaboration skills that span multiple teams, departments, and disciplines to create solutions.

• Experience in driving customer adoption and acceptance for products in development.

• Fluent in Mandarin and English.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in the games industry and knowledgeable about the gaming industry including newest trends and events.

• Experience leading technical projects using methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.

• Experience building software for internal users.

• Experience working on live games or globally scaled services.

• Familiarity with Agile and Lean development processes and practices.
