Wolcen is searching for a talented Designer-Programmer hybrid, embedded in the Design team, who will collaborate with Designers to help them develop their technical skills and share best practices, as well as take ownership of gameplay features and work with Programming and Art teams to prototype, develop and deliver them.

Responsibilities:
Take an active role in mentoring and helping Designers work with Unreal.
Develop, oversee and champion best practices in day-to-day work with Unreal in the Design team.
Jump in on a variety of gameplay topics, as needs arise, to assist with technical work assigned to the Design team.
Prototype and develop gameplay systems using Unreal blueprints and collaborating with other team members as part of feature teams.
Design gameplay systems that are aligned and support the vision established by the Game Director.
Document, present, and debate concepts clearly and concisely.
Research relevant references for the features you own and apply knowledge & findings to your design.
Own your work from initial design documentation to implementation of blueprint logic and connection to native code. Help others understand how these systems work and why we are building them.
Be able to bring various stakeholders together and collaborate effectively to solve or drive topics.
Regularly seek and provide feedback from / to the wider team.
Collaborate with Engineering and Art teams to ensure designs can be easily implemented and iterated on or reworked while managing performance.
Assist in the development of tools and systems necessary to deliver game features to the highest possible quality.
Requirements:
An experienced engineer who has shipped at least two games in Unreal with gameplay programming or equivalent experience.
Proven track record as a game designer in a professional capacity.
Deep knowledge of gameplay logic and Unreal blueprints. Familiarity with data structures and general programming concepts.
An analytical individual, capable of deconstructing game features and understanding what makes them stand out.
An individual with experience in rapid prototyping.
Is constructive and receptive to feedback, promoting a positive environment in day-to-day collaboration with other team members.
Ability to come up with multiple Design solutions for a given objective or request.
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently, sharing updates regularly.
Ability to adapt your communication to the intended audiences, collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A passionate gamer with a love for RPG and multiplayer games.
Always updating your knowledge and looking for new ways to do things.
Advanced English language skills
Experience working on a multiplayer game or an RPG and a love of the systems underpinning this genre is a plus.
Experience in leading a cross-disciplinary team in the delivery of high-quality features and content is a plus.
