Senior Technical Designer

As Senior Technical Designer in our Format & Design team, your expertise will ensure that every physical touchpoint—from Travel Retail to WHS and flagship stores—is built with precision, quality, and purpose.

This is a technical role at heart, focused on translating conceptual ideas into buildable, scalable design solutions. While you won't be developing the creative vision, you will play a crucial role in bringing it to life, working side by side with our Concept Designers, (interior) Architects, Design Development Project Manager, and Construction Managers. You’ll act as the technical anchor in a creative environment, ensuring ideas are realised in a way that is both beautiful and feasible.

With a strong focus on the APAC region, you will collaborate with local suppliers, production teams, and partners. An affinity with or experience in the region will help you navigate cultural and operational nuances with sensitivity and success.

You will make an impact by:

• Acting as a strategic technical design lead, bringing senior-level expertise to translate conceptual designs into scalable, premium retail environments
• Owning the full technical development process from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with Rituals’ brand DNA and well-being philosophy
• Leading the development of global retail formats and fixture systems with a strong focus on feasibility, innovation, and cross-channel scalability (Retail, Travel, WHS, etc.)
• Ensuring all technical solutions are future-proof, incorporating sustainability, B Corp principles, and evolving market and material trends
• Partnering closely with internal teams, suppliers, engineers, and production partners to ensure precision, quality, and seamless execution
• Overseeing prototyping, value engineering, and rollout preparations, delivering robust and cost-effective technical packages
• Safeguarding global technical standards, including documentation, material libraries, and compliance (e.g., fire certificates)
• Bringing your regional knowledge and cultural sensitivity to ensure APAC-specific technical and operational requirements are fully addressed
• Acting as a trusted Rituals representative when working independently on-site in the APAC region

Your ingredients:

• A degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 8+ years of hands-on technical design experience within premium retail environments, with a proven track record of leading complex international rollouts
• Advanced proficiency in Vectorworks (required), with strong capabilities in Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools such as V-Ray or Enscape
• Deep technical knowledge of materials, construction methodologies, fixture systems, and joinery
• Proven experience leading cross-functional projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary creative, commercial, and operational teams
• Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to balance creativity and pragmatism
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and align diverse stakeholders
• Extensive experience in or with the APAC region is beneficial, including cultural and operational understanding
• Willingness to travel independently to Asia for strategic project execution
• A strong personal drive to shape meaningful, sustainable, and brand-immersive retail experiences
