Senior Technical Consultant SAP Development (Transportation Management)

We are seeking for a very knowledgeable and experienced SAP developer with expertise on Transportation Management, who can assist on digital transformation and strategic TM programs, enhancing and safeguarding SIKA global template solutions. Strong communication skills and bold personality are required to discuss with various stakeholders about technical solutions in different levels (functional, business, management as well as with other technical teams). 

The Senior Technical Consultant will be responsible for custom development in SAP Transportation Management using ABAP OO, BOPF, FPM, PPF, BRF+, CDS views, and OData services. He or she must have expertise in TM Freight Units, Freight Orders, Charge Management, planning logic, and carrier integration at technical level. Must be able to design, build, and optimize TM processes, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with SAP Clean Core practices as well as BTP extensions, event-driven architecture, AI/ML, and SAP Joule to modernize TM processes and deliver next-generation digital logistics capabilities. Main activities include:

• Design, implement, and maintain custom developments related to Freight Units, Freight Order and other business objects belonging to transportation management scope
• Enhance planning and execution screens as well as other FPM applications (UI enhancements, BADIs, enhancements points)
• Implement charge calculation automation using BRF+
• Implement and modify PPF actions (printing, output, event-driven actions)
• Design and apply custom logic for transportation network modeling (means of transport, locations, routes)
• General TM enhancements using BOPF, FPM, FBI and other related frameworks
• Enhancement of TM master data models and interfaces, using BOs and CDS views
• Fiori and UI5 development and enhancements related to latest TM custom/standard applications
• Set up and activation of Fiori applications and technical catalogs, as well as oData services (standard and custom)
• Design and implementation of side-by-side extensions using BTP services
• Review and approval of functional design documents before releasing to development
• Design of technical documentation
• Technical coaching of other team members and handover of project deliverables to support organization

• 10+ years proven experience in the field of SAP TM development (including embedded and decentral)
• Studies in business informatics, information technologies or Engineering & Computer Sciences
• Expert in the following topics: ABAP, ABAP OO, BOPF, BRF+, report and dialog development, form development (Smart-forms, Adobe Forms)
• Knowledge in the following technologies is required: Fiori, UI5, CDS views, WebDynpro ABAP, EDI / IDoc, ABAP Proxy, oData, Web Services, Workflow, , BOPF, Business Technology Platform
• Working in a global environment and with global distributed teams
• Interested in new technologies such as SAP Cloud Platform and edge technologies, still with a effective hands on participation on other areas of responsibility
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Fluent in German would be of great advantage
