**This is a contract to hire position for one of our clients. This role is hybrid requiring in office work Tuesday-Thursday each week in the west metro of Minneapolis. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.**
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Systems Engineer who will collaborate with IT team members, business users, and technology stakeholders to design, operate, and secure enterprise identity, access, and infrastructure services. This role is responsible for supporting on-premises and cloud-based systems with a strong focus on identity and access management (IAM), Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID, remote access technologies, and certificate services. The position is expected to work independently on assigned tasks, own small to medium subsystems, and proactively contribute to system reliability, security, and operational improvements.
Responsibilities
• Administer and support Active Directory services, including user and group management, GPOs, and directory integrations.
• Manage identity and access management (IAM) platforms, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Okta.
• Configure and maintain SSO, MFA, conditional access, and identity governance controls.
• Support remote desktop and remote access infrastructure (RDS/VDI).
• Manage certificate services including PKI, TLS/SSL certificates, and lifecycle renewals.
• Administer Microsoft Azure environments including identity services, VMs, networking, and security.
• Monitor, patch, and maintain infrastructure systems to ensure availability and security.
• Document configurations, access models, and operational procedures.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours support rotations as required.
Qualifications
• Strong experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Hands‑on experience with IAM platforms such as Okta, including SSO and MFA.
• Experience administering Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, including OS patching methodologies.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Outlook, and enterprise mail migrations.
• Knowledge of remote desktop infrastructure and secure remote access technologies.
• Experience with certificate management and PKI services.
• Solid understanding of enterprise IT operations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
