Are you ready to lead Systems design efforts that expand the frontiers of space exploration with cutting-edge space robotics? Lunar Outpost Oceania is seeking a talented, experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our fast-paced, dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing engineering systems for spacecraft and associated technologies. Your expertise will contribute to groundbreaking projects in lunar mobility and in-space infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the management of, and adherence to, requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Definition Documents (IDDs) among consortium partners.
Lead the development of verification of validation approaches for complex integrated systems
Support tracing design to system requirements and ensure system testing demonstrates Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) towards proving requirements are met.
Provide Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure designs meet Assurance Requirements and quality standards through managing design reviews and related processes.
Collaborate with the AIT team to create system test plans and execute system test campaigns.
Lead development, integration, testing, and debugging of designs.
Support development of designs and concise functional description documents.
Support development and documentation of TPMs, concepts of operation (CONOPS), and risk analyses.
Support requirements-driven development lifecycle, including design, integration, and testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development with product requirements.
Work closely with software and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration between components.
Write clear and concise technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and release notes.
Support the provision of systems engineering guidance for the team, especially in requirements-driven development lifecycle.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure strong, continued communications throughout the lifecycle of the mission.
Support fellow system engineers in the team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent higher qualification.
Demonstrated experience with requirements management and Systems Engineering processes.
Technical understanding of interface control documents, electrical engineering architecture, and software process flowcharts.
Demonstrated experience in formal verification campaigns.
Demonstrated experience using PLM systems for document management.
Familiarity with industry standards for safety and reliability.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing technical environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills and able to work across teams and disciplines.
Self-motivated, and organised , with a track record of delivering high-quality systems documentation and analysis in time-sensitive environments.
Must be able to attain and hold NV1 security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, including deploying software on physical hardware systems.
Experience with NASA or Defence systems engineering practices and expectations.
Experience working in a space or aerospace environment.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Atlassian suite) and ensuring configuration control.
Experience working in a startup environment.
