What awaits you at Mynaric:
• Lead the Systems Engineering life-cycle of a product development in close cooperation with the technical team and the project manager
• Develop, Review and Manage Requirements definition, breakdown, Verification Planning and Verification Control Management
• Support or lead of design and performance budgets, analysis and simulation (e.g. link, pointing, mass and power budget, acquisition analysis, performance simulation).
• Coordinate interdisciplinary technical discussions, trade studies, resulting decisions, their justification and documentation
• Develop and own the system architecture and ensure its used and well understood in the team
• Control system and subsystem interfaces as well as system design information (Design description, System Models, System Design Trades)
• Overview, identify, assess and mitigate technical risks
• Ensure documentation of all relevant information and decisions during development, integration and verification together with engineering and testing teams
• Contribute to the formation of relevant processes fitting to fast-paced parallel development cycles by justified tailoring of known systems engineering practices
• Acts as a role model and reliable go-to-person for engineers as well as managers from own and other disciplines for guidance and active help

What you bring with you:
• You have successfully completed your bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or physics.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, 5+ years of experience in systems engineering in a multi-disciplinary field with highly integrated systems in a commercial environment
• Successfully worked as Lead Systems Engineer or Technical Manger in all phases of a product life-cycle for a space or airborne system
• Good understanding of ECSS, NASA or aeronautic standards on Systems Engineering and related processes as well as experience with their application and documents
• You have start-up or new space experience how to balance between classical document focused systems engineering and iterative risk affine strategy
• Experience with typical requirements and systems engineering processes and tools is required, best in Teamcenter
• Proficiency in system modeling and analysis tools such as Capella, Cameo, MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent
• As an engineering all-rounder you understand mechanical, optical, electrical, control and computer engineering
• You have a background in optomechanical and/or communication systems, best in Optical Communications
• Your motivation is outstanding. You understand how to hustle with maximum intensity while keeping the project risk under control
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and explain complex technical considerations or implementation processes to other organization members
