About the position

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Developer / Senior System Engineer with over 10 years of relevant working experience. Candidates with 6–10 years of experience may be considered for Developer / System Engineer positions. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in updating existing Java applications and developing new solutions to support business initiatives and based with other Appnovation team members in our client offices in Hong Kong.

You will have the opportunity to

• Update existing Java applications to new technologies stack.

• Support software development of new business initiatives

• Containerize applications to run on Podman/Kubernetes

• Integrate applications with monitoring tools (Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana, OpenSearch)

• Develop Jenkins CI/CD pipeline

• Develop Helm chart for container deployment on Kubernetes

• Develop and execute function test and performance test cases

• Draft design document

• Support troubleshooting and problem investigation

Who you are

• Proficient in Java, Jakarta EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.

• Experienced with Jersey, Hibernate, JPA, and database management (Oracle 19c / PostgreSQL).

• Knowledgeable in web servers like Tomcat and proficient in testing and monitoring tools.

• Familiar with AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, Helm, and Istio for cloud and containerization.

• Competent in DevOps tools including Jenkins and Maven, with experience in reporting tools like JasperReports.

• Able to provide legacy support for Spring Framework (3/4), Hibernate (4), Jersey2, Apache CXF, Apache Synapse, and Wildfly.

• Fluent in English (written) and proficient in Cantonese and Putonghua (verbal).
