Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Mission Systems (SMS) Division, seeking a qualified Senior System Architect/Model Based Systems Engineer to join the Space Systems Engineering team in Albuquerque, NM.  Our team works with Government, and Proprietary Customers in the development and deployment of next-generation technologies.  The SMS organization in New Mexico is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions. Position Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with a multi-discipline team to decompose system requirements into functional and logical architectures and allocate logical architecture to physical implementation

• Capture system requirements traceability within the system architecture model

• Apply model-based system engineering (MBSE) methodology to develop system architectural views using Systems Modeling Language (SysML)

• Analyze MBSE models to derive system ConOps through use of mission threads and use case scenario analyses

• Utilize the system architecture model in support of systems engineering milestone reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, etc

• Ensure that system models are compliant to a standard outlined by the Customer approved style guide and the internal systems architecture/MBSE development plan

• Review and translate Customer reference architecture model to internal architecture model

• Provide input to continuously improve MBSE training, processes, and tools

• Mentor systems engineers in MBSE processes and tools

• Foster strong customer relationships

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

• 5+ year of experience in systems integration with systems engineering processes and procedures

• 5+ years of experience creating MBSE systems models in Cameo, Magic Systems of Systems Architect (MSOSA), or similar software

• Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML)

• Experience in CONOPS development, trade studies, and requirements/interface definitions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience implementing model-based approaches on engineering projects/programs, ensuring seamless integration of delivered models within the receiving architecture and digital engineering platform

• Experience applying and teaching systems engineering processes and principles

• Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation 

• Experience with complex systems development and integration

• Experience modeling or simulating complex systems

• Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORs, CAMEO)

• Understanding of statistical analysis, distributions, and sampling

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $136,850 - $185,150
