Join SDR Care as a Senior Support Worker – Lead, Inspire, and Shape a Brand-New Service!
Salary: £14.75 per hour
Hours: 36.25 per week (Days)
Driving: Essential for community activities (UK drivers licence held for at least 1 year)
Contract: Permanent, full time
As a Senior Support Worker at SDR, you’ll be part of a brand-new service, providing skilled, hands-on support to a young individual with autism, a learning disability, ADD, and episodes of dysregulated behaviour. You’ll help them settle into their new home, develop independence, and enjoy safe, engaging daily activities.
You’ll also provide support to the team, offering guidance and sharing your experience to help other Support Workers deliver consistent, high-quality care. Your presence and expertise will ensure routines, activities, and positive interactions run smoothly, creating a safe and encouraging environment every day.

Responsibilities:
Lead by example as a Senior Support Worker, supporting independence while maintaining safety
Support other team members, helping them develop their skills and confidence
Use positive behaviour support techniques to manage dysregulation effectively
Maintain structured daily routines, planning activities and outings
Work closely with a small, skilled team to deliver the highest quality care
Uphold safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act principles, and best practice
Who We’re Looking For
Experience supporting individuals with complex autism, learning disabilities, or dysregulated behaviour
Strong safeguarding knowledge, emotional resilience, and leadership skills
Calm, adaptable, and able to think on your feet in challenging situations
Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker or in a leadership role within high-need settings
Positive, flexible approach with a sense of humour and a passion for mentoring others
