The Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, and management of enterprise storage systems across complex ICT environments, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing storage and data platforms. The role supports ongoing operations while contributing to the future direction of storage technologies and infrastructure capability.
This is an initial 12 month contract role.
Requirements:
What you'll do:
• Deploy, configure, manage, and optimise enterprise storage systems across physical and virtual environments.
• Administer and maintain Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure, including switches and associated technologies.
• Monitor and tune storage performance, ensuring reliability, availability, and data integrity across platforms.
• Support backup and recovery capabilities, including implementation and management of solutions such as Veeam.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of storage and data platforms, incorporating emerging technologies and best practices.
• Produce and maintain design, build, and operational documentation to support consistent service delivery and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and ICT teams to ensure integration and alignment across platforms.
• Provide after-hours support as required to maintain critical infrastructure services.
• Mentor junior team members and support capability uplift within the team.
What you'll bring:
• Demonstrated experience designing, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting enterprise storage systems such as HPE 3PAR/Primera/Alletra, NetApp E-Series, Dell Data Domain, Brocade Fabric Switches, SANnav, or Scality Artesca.
• Strong experience working within large, complex ICT environments.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery technologies, including Veeam Backup and Replication.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality design, build, and operational documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage technical stakeholders and present information clearly.
• Experience mentoring team members and sharing technical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and maintain performance in high-demand environments.
• Awareness of emerging storage technologies and trends to support continuous improvement.
